Ms. Farida Yahya

Biography

Farida Yahya Habu is a Nigerian social entrepreneur and development leader with over 15 years of experience across media, community engagement, and social impact sectors. Passionate about empowering women and youth, she has dedicated her career to enterprise development, digital learning, and institutional strengthening. She currently serves as Country Director and Chief of Party for the West Africa Division at the American Institute for International Policy Makers and Public Administrators (AIIPMPA), where she leads regional strategy, oversees program implementation, and cultivates high-level partnerships to advance governance, international cooperation, and sustainable development across the region.

Farida is also the Founder and CEO of The Brief Academy, a platform providing affordable online education and mentorship to female founders from underserved communities, impacting over 3,500 women and 1,000 startups. A 2021 Mandela Washington Fellow, two-time TEDx speaker, published author, and nationally recognized leader, she has held several prominent leadership roles, including President of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria and Deputy National President of AWEP Nigeria. Through her work across entrepreneurship, policy, and civic engagement, Farida continues to champion inclusive economic growth and transformational leadership in Africa.
